I was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in both Maryland and right here in Kennesaw, Georgia. I have been married for one year to my husband who is in the NAVY. We have a 3 year old Siamese cat who is crazy. I went to the University of Georgia and obtained my B.S. degree in Psychology. GO DAWGS! I then received my M.S. degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Walden University. I worked for the Atlanta police department for two years before I decided to pursue teaching. I started out as a paraprofessional at Milford Elementary for one year, and I spent two years obtaining my teaching certification for K-12 special education. I have been teaching fourth and fifth grade for going on three years here at Lewis. I LOVE it. This will be my fourth year working for Cobb County schools. Fifth grade is one of the most challenging (and fun!) years in elementary school. There are so many things to look forward to this year. We will be preparing students for the EOG Milestones and the transition to middle school, but we will try to have the most fun we possibly can during preparation. We will have many different field trips including the overnight Blue Ridge trip which is a favorite among all of us. I enjoy challenging students in different ways. I know not everyone learns the same way, and we will work to find out how each student is most successful in the classroom. If you ever have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I try to check my email frequently. Looking forward to a fabulous year!
