I was born in Mableton, GA. and grew up in West Cobb. I am married to Mr. Monroe, who is a teacher at Hayes ES. We have two Children. Sarah Cate is 4 years old and Hanner is 2 years old.
I have earned a B.S in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University. I received my Masters in technology from Troy State. And a Specialist degree in teaching and learning from Piedmont College. I have and ESOL endorsement as well as a reading endorsement. This just means that I have taken extra classes to focus on these specific skills. I have had a lot of training in the Learning Focused School model.
This will be my tenth year teaching in Cobb County. Before coming to Lewis I taught Kindergarten for 5 years and first grade for 2 years at Sanders Elementary. I am excited to begin my third year at Lewis and a little closer to home.
I absolutely love my job and feel blessed to help shape the lives of our young people. I am excited for fifth grade and the opportunity to help get your child ready for middle school. I believe that all children can learn, but not necessarily in the same way. I hope to create an engaging classroom and partner with you in order to create success for your child.
